Ordering Flowers Online

I send flowers to various friends and relatives at least once a month by way of saying congratulations or as a gift (yes, I even send them as birthday presents) – it may be a lack of imagination or sheer laziness on my part (ordering flowers online is so easy these days) but they are always gratefully received.

I must have used most, if not all, the popular UK online florists over the last few years, always trying to find the best deal. So I though it would be a good idea to share my experiences and list my favourite florist websites to order flowers online:

I use all of the above florists to order flowers online on a regular basis depending on the type of bouquet required, how quickly I need them delivered and where I need them delivered to.

If I am ordering flowers online well in advance I tend to use Serenata Flowers or Flying Flowers due to their free delivery. If it’s evening and I need the flowers delivered the next day I would use Interflora as they take orders for next day flowers as late as Midnight. Interflora, you will not be surprised to learn, has the largest selection of bouquets also so if I use them if need something a little different.

For same day flowers I usually use Flowers Direct or iFlorist as the tend to have the best deals. I have a memory like a sieve sometimes and when I forget some special occasion or I’m sending flowers online for congratulations where the timing is impossible to foresee such as flowers to proud new parents of a newborn baby same day flowers comes in very useful.

For international flowers online I generally use Flying Flowers if sending flowers to Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa or the US as they are the best value otherwise I use any of the others (most deliver to 140+ countries) depending on the bouquet.

Another important factor is how much I am willing to spend – you can get a perfectly respectable bouquet of fresh flowers online from Flying Flowers for as little as £9.99 delivered for free (by post) or have fresh flowers delivered to someone in New Zealand for £29 also delivered free, The choice at Flying Flowers is a little limited however compared to some of the other florists but they can’t be beaten on price.
